FHUARC meeting minutes
April 17, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Joe Loucka.
In attendance: Joe Loucka, Dan Crump, Richard and Martha England, Barry
Smith, Jimmy Helvering, Thad Williams, James Webb, Ron Means, Ray Eaton, and
Mike and Louise Burkhead.
Treasurer Barry Smith gave brief Treasurer's Report.
President Loucka advised that there was no change in the status of the
147.105 repeater.
Next meeting (May 15, 2008) will be an "eating meeting", and election for
new Club officers will be held. Meeting will be at Gene Record Park in
Henderson. Meeting time: 6:00 PM.
Ron Means advised that the status of the hamfest has changed to swapfest.
The date is June 7, 2008. If you have a table, you can set up between 4:00
PM and 8:00 PM, on Friday, June 6. Only those with tables will be admitted
on Friday. You can also set up Saturday morning between 7:00 AM and 8:00
AM. All tables are free, unless you need power, then it will be $5.00 per
table. Admission is free. Concessions and Chester County BBQ will be
available. Cedar City Sales will be here with all kinds of ham radio
goodies! There will be a VE test session. If you wish to take a ham exam,
bring $14.00 and a photo identification.
Tonight's program was an interesting video on MFJ Enterprises. The MFJ CEO
and President, Mr. Martin Liu, was interviewed, and several of his employees
showed the manufacturing processes for different MFJ products, including
Hy-Gain antennas, Ameritron and Mirage amplifiers, etc.
