Meeting Minutes
April 19, 2007
Meeting called to order by President Joe
Loucka at 7:00 PM, in the Conference Room of Henderson City Hall.
In attendance: Joe and Sue Loucka,
Jimmy Helvering, Thad Williams, James Webb, Mickey Burkhead, Mike and
Louise Burkhead, Barry Smith, Dan Crump, Joe Newton, and Loran Newton.
The program for the evening was
presented by President Loucka. He demonstrated the construction of a 2
meter Yagi antenna that is designed for Fox Hunting. This antenna was
built from commonly-available parts from the local hardware and plumbing
store. A very effective df (direction-finding ) antenna! Thanks to Joe
for presenting this very interesting and practical project! This
antenna will be used in the upcoming Fox Hunt next month!
The election of officers will be held at
the May meeting. All interested and prospective candidates, step up!
You have a GOOD chance at securing an office!!! The May meeting will be
held at Richard and Martha’s home QTH….an “eating meeting”. The club
will provide BBQ, bratwurst, etc., and members will bring “pot luck”
dishes. All this, along with great fellowship, will be at Richard and
Miss Martha’s wonderful carport, May 17!!! An email will be sent to
everyone after Louise, Miss Martha, and Sue meet and discuss the meal.
Everyone is eagerly awaiting arrival of
Field Day ’07. Hopefully we will be able to secure use of the new
Civitan Pavilion at Gene Record Park (Henderson City Park) to do our
operating. Also, should be a good place to whip up some Field Day
recipes on the ole’ grills….hi!!!
Club dues will be due and payable at
next meeting.
To those members who could not make the
meeting for one reason or another, you were in out thoughts. Hope
everyone has a wonderful month, and until next meeting (or sooner), best
