Minutes of meeting on July 24, 2008, at the Gardner Center

Meeting called to order by new President Ron Means, W5DAT

Plans were discussed for the upcoming year. Several ideas were presented.
Among those ideas were:
 

• Oct. 4-5, simulated ARES/RACES emergency test.
• Possible booth at the FHU Organization Day, in September.
• Different contests within the organization, programs, presentations.
• Recognitions and honors
• A station at the Chester County Barbecue Festival
• Helping the Jackson Club with the Bagels and Bluegrass Bike Ride Helping
• Boy Scouts earn merit badges.
• A demonstration of some of the new modes of Ham communications,
  Including satellite, and a school station communicating with
  The International Space State or the Space Shuttle.

Several members mentioned their intentions to attend the Huntsville (Ala.) HamFest, Aug. 16-17.

The next meeting was scheduled for Aug. 21, at the Gardner Center.
