Hello Hams:
Well, after a very long day Saturday, I was finally able to lay down,
relax and cool off on Sunday afternoon! We had a well organized event,
we were ready for the crowds, but, the crowds didn't show. I believe
there are more than one reason: 1. We lapsed a year in the event. This
hurt us, but it is recoverable. 2. Gas prices...we didn't get the long
distance travelers that we have had in past years from other states. 3.
Changing mid-stream from a ham fest to a swap fest. This one didn't
hurt us as much, but, I'm sure it had its effects.
Let me thank everyone who pitched in to help with table set up and load
in of Cedar City Sales on Friday afternoon. I also want to thank
everyone who played a role on Saturday with food, load-in, talk-in,
clean-up, load-out, etc. Even though the attendance was down this year,
we still had to do the same amount of work! I was very impressed with
the willingness of our club members to work, all day!
Al and Pam with Cedar City Sales also express their gratitude for the
assistance with loading their trailer. They continue to be very
impressed with our club and are very patient with us as we continue to
work to grow our event. Beverly and I spent Saturday night with them
for dinner and visiting. They are looking forward to our event again
next year!
I will have some suggested changes that I will present at our club
meeting next week for next year. I welcome your comments as well.
73,
Ron
