I am sure all of you are following the weather situation in the Gulf
with Hurricane Ike.
Today's models show the predicted path of the storm taking a northeast
track once it makes land fall on the Texas/Louisiana boarder tomorrow
morning. This will put the eastern edge of the storm (most likely
Tropical Storm Ike) passing through the edge of West Tennessee.
Chester county will likely feel the effects of the outer bands of the
storm on Sunday and into Monday. This will likely result in high winds,
heavy rain periods, Thunderstorms and a Tornado watch for our area.
Please be aware of the weather situation this weekend and be prepared in
case we activate the weather net for Chester County. Make sure your
handie-talkie batteries are fully charged over night tonight and so
forth.
Thank you for your service to the community as volunteer storm spotters
and emergency communicators.
73,
Ron Means
