Hello Hams:
Just wanted to send out an update on where we stand...
Our next club meeting will be this Thursday night at 7:00 in GC101 (our
usual meeting room). I will not be able to attend due to a class
conflict. One of our professors was in a car accident a couple of weeks
ago and I have picked up teaching one of his evening classes this
semester while he is out recovering from multiple broken bones. Dan
(W1LSU), our Vice-president, will be in charge of this month's meeting.
I have already met with him and we have worked out an agenda together
for new and old business to discuss.
I will not receive new information on the TN SET exercise until next
Monday, Sept 22. So, nothing to report on except the list of names I
have received and confirmed as active participants for the event. They
are,
Ron Means, Dan Crump, Mike Burkhead, Richard England Sr., Barry Smith, &
Gary Roeder. Six total participants. I will be contacting each of you
after I receive the additional info from the SEC on the 22nd. You will
get the timeline and details of our exercise then. Remember the date,
Saturday, Oct 4, from 10:00am until 12:00noon. (We will probably end a
little early depending on how the scenario goes).
The BBQ Festival event station has approval for setting up on FHU's
corner on Main Street. As I stated in a previous e-mail, we still need
a volunteer to coordinate this event. I haven't heard from anyone yet.
This won't happen (at least properly) unless it is coordinated by
someone. Any volunteers?
I am still working out the details of our Fall Storm Spotter Training
class with the NWS office in Memphis. More on this later...
I hate to have to miss the meeting this week, but, I look forward to
seeing you all soon and talking with you on the ARES Net Tuesday night.
73,
Ron,
W5DAT
President,
FHU ARC
